Nigerian Institute of Public Relations Confers Governor Umar Namadi With Diamond Prize For Excellence In Food Security

On Tuesday, 14th January 2025, Brig. Gen. SK Usman was elated and deeply honoured to be part of the esteemed Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) delegation to Jigawa State for a historic and momentous occasion. The event featured a national media engagement and the investiture of His Excellency, Mallam Umar A. Namadi, FCA, the Executive Governor as Patron of the Jigawa State chapter of the NIPR.

The pinnacle of the ceremony was the presentation of the prestigious Diamond Prize for Excellence in Food Security in Nigeria to the Governor—a groundbreaking recognition and the first of its kind in the country. The ceremony took place at the iconic Sir Ahmadu Bello Hall, Three Arms Zone, Dutse, Jigawa State.

During the event, members of the state’s executive council took turns briefing the audience on the activities and achievements of their respective Ministries , Departments , and Agencies , showcasing the state’s strides in governance and development.

Earlier in the day, the Governor led the delegation on a visit to Baranda village, where they were introduced to the state’s impressive wheat farms. The team interacted with farmers, government officials, and development partners in the agricultural sector, providing firsthand insight into the initiatives driving Jigawa’s agricultural success.

This event bears eloquent testimony to the Governor’s exemplary leadership and the state’s commitment to enhancing food security, a legacy that will inspire others across the nation.
