
Nigerian Navy Commissions Primary Health Care Centre In Enugu State
The Nigerian Navy has commissioned a Primary Health Care Centre in Umuisu Ugbawka, Nkanu East Local Government Area of Enugu State in honour of Rear Admiral Patrick Chibueze Nwatu (Rtd). The project was executed under the Special Intervention Quick Impact Projects initiative to improve access to healthcare in the rural community.
The Chief of the Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Idi Abbas, represented by the Director of Veteran Affairs, Rear Admiral Raheem Taofeek, said the project reflects the Navy’s commitment to civil-military cooperation and national development. The facility will provide maternal and child healthcare, immunisation, and basic laboratory services.
The Enugu State Government, represented by the Commissioner for Health, Professor George Ugwu, confirmed that the centre is fully equipped and staffed for round-the-clock services with solar- powered electricity. Stakeholders described the project as a major boost to grassroots healthcare delivery and community well-being.
