Nigerian Navy Extends Operation Delta Sanity

On Thursday 10 October 2024, Nigerian Navy extended operation delta sanity by another 90 days, this extension was declared by the Flag Officer Commanding (FOC) Central Naval Command, Rear Admiral Samson Bura. The FOC enumerated the successes of the operation since the last extension in July which include:

a. Discovery and deactivation of 124 illegal refining sites, 543 dug-out pits and 64 storage tanks.

b. Arrest of 55 suspects.

c. Confiscation of 6 vessels and 116 wooden boats.

d. Seizure of several items used in the construction of illegal refining sites.

e. Recovery of large quantities of stolen crude oil and its derivatives.
