
Nigerian Navy Holds Special Juma’at Prayer To Mark 69th Anniversary Celebrations and 2025 Navy Week
As part of the programme of events for the 69th Anniversary of the Nigerian Navy, a special Juma’at Prayer Service was conducted at the newly commissioned Central Mosque, Admiralty Estate, Asokoro Abuja. The Special Guest of Honour at the service was His Excellency, the Honourable Minister of State for Defence, Dr Bello Matawalle MON.
The Minister encouraged all NN personnel to remain committed to the Service and the Nation stating that the Federal Government was committed to ensuring the provision of equipment and platforms for the NN. He used the opportunity to appreciate the Chief of the Naval Staff (CNS), Vice Admiral Emmanuel Ikechukwu Ogalla for providing befitting Worship Centres for the personnel. The CNS was represented by the Chief of Policy and Plans, Rear Admiral Ibrahim Dewu who delivered the CNS Goodwill Message. The message urged all personnel to remain prayerful, steadfast and faithful in the face of numerous challenges. He further stated that the strength of the country lies in the unity of all despite diverse backgrounds. Finally, he appreciated the President, C-in-C of the Armed Forces Federal Republic of Nigeria, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR for his support to the NN which has culminated in the acquisition of modern platforms and improved personnel welfare. The Director Islamic Affairs and Imam of the Central Mosque Navy Captain Rabiu Rumah thanked the Almighty God for His steadfastness noting that as the Navy celebrates its 69th Anniversary, personnel should imbibe the virtue of truthfulness and honesty as they conduct daily affairs.
The event was also attended Director Plans, Naval Headquarters, Rear Admiral Abdullahi Ahmed and Executive Director Human Resources Navy Holdings Limited, Rear Admiral Muhsin Abba among many other senior officers and dignitaries.
