Nigerian Navy Hosts The 8th Symposium Of Heads Of Navies and Coastguards Of The Gulf Of Guinea Region

The 8th Symposium of Heads of Navies and CoastGuards of the Gulf of Guinea countries opened yesterday evening, 26 November 2024 with an ice-breaker meeting at the TRANSCORP Hilton Hotel Abuja. The Ice-Breaker meeting presented a convivial welcome to delegates from over 25 countries including representatives from the European Union.

The Chief of the Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Emmanuel Ikechukwu Ogalla welcomed all to the 3-day symposium and expressed optimism that the event would further bolster the increasing security in the Gulf of Guinea Region. Other delegates who spoke to the Press include EU Ambassador-Designated Gautier Mignot, the French Chief of Naval Staff, Admiral Nicolas Vaujour and the Chief of Staff of Gabonese National Navy Rear Admiral Bekale Meyong Hubert.
