Nigerian Navy Organises Combined Graduation Ceremony Of Young Officers’ Intelligence Course and Basic Intelligence Operatives’ Course
On Wednesday, 18 September 2024, the Young Officers Intelligence Course 18/24 and Basic Intelligence Operatives’ Course AIII 23/24 graduation ceremony was held at the Nigerian Navy Intelligence School (NNIS) in Ubima. Rear Admiral PE Effah was the Special Guest of Honour (SGOH), other senior officers in attendance included Principal Staff Officers from Eastern Naval Command and Central Naval Command, the Director of Naval Intelligence (DNI) Commodore UM Bugaje, members of sister services and senior paramilitary officials.
The Commandant NNIS Ubima Commodore BM Sule, oversaw the graduation of 21 officers and 52 operatives into the NAVINT Directorate. During the graduation, awards were given in recognition of outstanding performance.
In the YOC Intelligence category, Lt SA Zaki placed third, Lt ES Williamson was second and Lt BO Ogar was the Best Overall Officer. Furthermore, Lt J Uzoh earned the Best Commandant’s Paper Award for her intelligence analysis skills.
In the AIII Course, SMWEA Imoudu MO placed third, ABBP Sunmonu KA second and ABBP Ogor GO was the Best Overall operative and won the Best Commandant’s Paper for his analytical skills.
In his remarks, the SGOH thanked the Chief of the Naval Staff for facilitating the course and congratulated the graduates, urging them to provide accurate intelligence to enhance Nigerian Navy operations and address Nigeria’s security challenges. He also encouraged them to embrace their new roles and apply their training to improve national security.
As a token of appreciation, the DNI presented souvenirs to the SGOH and other notable invitees. The event concluded with the graduates showcasing a demonstration of forensic crime scene investigation in the Forensic Simulation Room recently established by the School.
