
Nigerian Navy Ship Pathfinder Conducts Juma’at Service In Commemoration Of Armed Forces Celebration and Remembrance Day 2026
On Friday, 9 January 2026, the Nigerian Navy Ship (NNS) PATHFINDER participated in a special Juma’at service at the Rivers State Central Mosque, Port Harcourt, as part of activities marking the 2026 Armed Forces Celebration and Remembrance Day. The service was organised to honour officers and men of the Nigerian Armed Forces who paid the supreme sacrifice in defence of the nation’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
The Commander, NNS PATHFINDER, Rear Admiral Cajethan Aniaku, was represented at the service by the Executive Officer, Commodore Abubakar Sani, who delivered the Commander’s goodwill message and appreciated the Rivers State Government for its continued support to the Armed Forces. The service was attended by officers and ratings of the Nigerian Navy within the Port Harcourt area, personnel of sister services, and members of the Muslim faithful.
In his sermon, the Chief Imam of the Rivers State Central Mosque urged military personnel to uphold the values of patriotism, sacrifice, discipline and dedication to duty. Special prayers were offered by the Base Imam, NNS PATHFINDER, Lieutenant Bashir Salati, for fallen heroes, serving personnel, the leadership of the Armed Forces and the nation, as well as for peace, unity and success in ongoing security operations nationwide.
