Nigerian Navy Ship Soroh Conducts Medical and Educational Rhapsody In Bayelsa State

Nigerian Navy Ship SOROH led be the Commander, Commodore NS Lakan conducted a medical and educational rhapsody to the populace of Diebu Community in Southern Ijaw Local Government Area of Bayelsa State.

During the outreach, educational materials distributed to the pupils included exercise books, biros, pencils, footballs, chalks as well as mathematical sets while the medical services rendered are Hepatitis checks, Blood pressure checks, HIV tests, distribution of Medicated glasses and treated mosquito nets amongst others.

In his remarks, Commander NNS SOROH stated that in the realm of education, knowledge is a powerful tool for personal and communal growth as education helps unlock opportunities, empowers individuals and fosters a brighter future for the younger generation. He also said that access to quality health care remains a challenge for many rural communities in the general area and it’s on that background that the outreach brought health care professionals and services directly to the people of Diebu Community with a focus on preventive care and treatment of common ailments. Lastly, he stated that the rhapsody is aimed at eliciting Civil-Military Relations, Information sharing and psychological operations.

In attendance was the Community Development Chairman, Honourable David Newton Ofere who expressed his gratitude on behalf of the Community members while thanking the Commander NNS SOROH and his team for bringing such initiative to Diebu Community.
