Nigerian Police Arrest 4-Man Notorious Syndicate That Specialized In Impersonation and Identity Thief

Nigerian Police have arrested a 4-Man Notorious Syndicate that Specialized in Impersonation and Identity Theft.

On 25/3/17 after IGP Received Series of Complaints from the members of the Public on the activities of Some Notorious Criminals who Posed as Chief of Staff to President, NSA, Minister of Petroleum, minister of Finance, Chief Bola Tinubu, Senate President etc IGP Ibrahim Idris Directed the Intelligence Response team IRT to trace and Arrest the Criminals.

After 3 days of Unrelenting follow up and Technical intelligence Support from TIU, On 28/3/17 the 4 man Syndicate led by One High Chief Ovie Ogogo 47yrs Native of Omoku Rivers State who Impersonates Prominent Citizens from the South South and Southeast, Abdulazeez Eragbe 40yrs Impersonates Prominent Citizens from the North, Babatunde Oshamoto 49yrs Impersonates Prominent Citizens from the South West and North Central and Samuel Idah 25yrs who supplies them with Sim Cards Registered with the names of the prominent Citizens were all Arrested in a Luxury Hotel in Kaduna State by IRT.

All Suspects confessed to impersonating Several Prominent Citizens including the Chief of Staff to President Mallam Abba Kyari, Senate President Bukola Saraki, National Security adviser GEN Monguno, Minister of Transport Gov Rotimi AMEACHI, Minister Of Petroleum, Minister of Finance and Many Prominent APC leaders.

They further Confessed that they made over 20 million Naira from their Criminal activities within the last 6 months, They mentioned one Prince Maurice based in United Kingdom as their Overall Gangleader.

14 different Phones all with SIM cards Registered with names of Top Government officials and Several extra registered  Simcards, A Diary containing Phone numbers of Several Top government officials etc were Recovered from wthe Suspects.

Chief Ovie Further Confessed That they posed as the National Security Adviser General Babagana Monguno and Collected 13 Million Naira from a Ghanian man who wants to get an Oil block in Nigeria, That they also Posed as The Secretary to the Federal Government Mr  Babachir David and Collected 4 Million Naira from one Nnamdi Udo who is looking for Federal Appointment, They also posed as Mal Abba Kyari Chief of Staff to the President and collected 2.5million Naira from one Mr Bishop who is looking for Contract, Suspects again Posed as the Chief of Staff to president and collected 700k from one SHEHU Dan Yahaya who is Seeking for Federal Appointment etc etc Investigation Continues.
