Nigerians Applaud Banky W for Fighting for Peace Within P-Square
Nigerians are applauding Banky W for taking time to speak to the Okoye brothers who have sworn they will keep dragging their family name in the mud.
Yesterday, the EME boss who has just returned to Nigerian after undergoing surgery in the United States took to his Instagram to bother himself with the troubles with the P-Square twins.
The EME boss revealed how much he missed Nigerian food and the shocker he got when he walked into his favourite restaurant in Lagos.
“I asked for beans and plantain… the waiter said I could have one or the other, but not the two at the same time. I was confused,” he said, adding, “I decided to go for Jollof rice and chicken. Same story. Pounded yam and Egusi??? No, sorry, it’s either pounded yam OR Egusi.. not both together.”
He continued, adding, “I was actually at a loss for words. This didn’t make sense to me, at all. The waiter then tried to explain.. using words like “change”, “growth” and “trying a new direction”. But I didn’t and still don’t understand. Why change what was already perfect? In the past few days I’d try plantain one day, and then beans another. Etc. And they did taste good. But they were perfect together. Absolutely perfect. The best of the best of African cuisine.”
Banky W tagged the Okoye brothers–Peter, Paul and their manager brother, Jude–to the post to make his point, and his analogy moved many Nigerians because folks are applauding him for fighting for peace among brothers who have sworn they want none.
Peter Okoye now uses the stage name Mr P, and is churning out music, while his brother Paul now goes by King Rudy. Though their new songs are catchy, many fans have noted that something is missing in each video; there is almost general dissatisfaction as viewers keep waiting for the other twin to make an appearance in their respective videos.
And that is Banky W’s point: they may be making catchy tunes individually but to really win back lost fans, they must come together.
