Nigerians Attack American Governor for Mocking the Abduction of Chibok Girls
During the GOP Convention in America, New Jersey governor, Chris Christie, attempted to pass a verdict on the democratic candidate, Hillary Clinton, over her time as Secretary of State. In the process he dragged the missing Chibok Girls into his ‘prosecutorial’ speech.
The governor claimed that terrorist group Al Qaeda was behind the abduction of the Chibok girls, before chipping in that Hillary Clinton was personally responsible. You can watch the video here.
His speech sparked a scathing outrage from former Minister of Education and convener of #BringBackOurGirls movement,Obiageli Ezekwesili. The activist slammed the governor for insensitively using the missing Chibok girls for indecent politicking, especially at a time when Boko Haram’s activities were at their peak. She then demanded that Gov Christie apologize for his lack of character and empathy, And finally asked President Buhari to take action and do something about the remaining Chibok girls immediately.
See some of her tweets below.

@realDonaldTrump has lowered the bar in American campaign culture; @ChrisChristie has followed suit. #ChibokGirls shouldn’t have come in.

Gov. Christie lost all credibility by saying that Hillary Clinton is responsible for kidnapped school girls in Nigeria. Blame Boko Haram.
