NTA Zonal Director Visits Headquarters 6 Division Seeks For More Support

The management team of the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA), Network Centre, Port Harcourt led by the Zonal Director, Dr (Mrs) Evelyn Nwosu has paid a courtesy call on the General Officer Commanding (GOC), 6 Division, Nigerian Army/Land Component Commander, Joint Task Force, South South, Operation DELTA SAFE, Major General Jamal Abdussalam. She made the call today, 26 October, 2023, at Port Harcourt, Barracks, Rivers State.

Dr Nwosu, while stating the purpose of her visit, said it was aimed at appreciating the GOC for his generosity, for the donation of 2 airconditioners to NTA to enable them keep their inverter equipment at optimal level for seamless transmission. This, she said, was highly appreciated by the NTA.

She was particularly delighted with the GOC for the prompt response to their request, adding that the Division should continue to assist when the need arises. She appreciated the GOC for the warm reception accorded her and her team, stating that they are proud of what the NA is doing for the nation.

In his response, the GOC appreciated them for the visit. He recalled with nostalgia that NTA is an old television station that has inspired, entertained, informed, and educated many Nigerians, from cradle to date. He expressed confidence that the visit would further cement the existing relationship between the NA and NTA.

Major General Abdussalam also expressed his delight to the NTA, for believing that the NA can also extend hands of friendship outside military activities. He assured them of 6 Division’s support and cordial relationship. He added that the joint environment as encapsulated in the Chief of Army Staff’s Command Philosophy does not only conotes the sister security agencies but also other government agencies like the NTA.

The GOC further stated that what the Division has donated to NTA is part of the NA’s Civil-Military Cooperation activities. He added that NTA as a Federal Government establishment is a critical national institution that also helps in the fight against crimes, insecurity, and vandalism and therefore needs the support of the NA. He promised to continue to support the network centre to perform its responsibilities effectively.
