Ogun II Command Commends Officers as Revenue Hits Over ₦32 Billion in 2024

The Ogun II Customs Area Command of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has praised its officers for their dedication and professionalism after recording a ₦32.46 billion revenue in the 2024 fiscal year—a major milestone in its operations.

The Customs Area Controller (CAC) Comptroller Olusola Alade, made the announcement during a press briefing at the command headquarters in Abeokuta on Thursday, 6 February 2025, attributing the achievement to the hard work, diligence, and efficiency of his personnel.

“This remarkable growth is a testament to our officers’ commitment to duty and our unwavering dedication to strengthening the national economy,” he stated.

Alade also commended the Customs Intelligence Unit, Monitoring Unit, and Customs Police Unit for their critical roles in ensuring compliance and enforcement, contributing significantly to the revenue growth.

Additionally, he expressed gratitude to the Comptroller-General of Customs, Adewale Adeniyi MFR, for his leadership, support, and policy direction, which have strengthened excise duty collection and industrial monitoring.

The Customs Area Controller further applauded traders and manufacturers who have adhered to customs regulations, urging more businesses to comply with fiscal policies to foster economic growth.

Highlighting the command’s operational strides, Alade revealed that the command generated ₦4.34 billion in January 2025 alone, marking a 104% increase from the ₦2.14 billion generated in the same period last year.

He also noted that enhanced monitoring within Free Trade Zones, particularly the Ogun Guangdong, Ceplast, and Flourmill Free Trade Zone, significantly boosted revenue. Furthermore, the command uncovered four unauthorised factories—Evita Moore, Lekan Industries, Scarlet Eagle Ltd, and IBK Ventures—which were operating without proper licences. These factories have since been placed under excise control and are undergoing registration processes.

Reaffirming the command’s commitment to sustained revenue growth, trade facilitation, and national security enforcement, Alade assured Ogun II Customs would continue improving operational efficiency and supporting Nigeria’s economic development.
