Ordinance Corps Commander Pays Courtesy Visit To Headquarters 1 Division

The Corps Commander Ordnance (CC Ord), Major General Abdullahi Garba Ibrahim, paid a courtesy visit to the General Officer Commanding (GOC), 1 Division Nigerian Army (NA) and Commander Sector 1 Joint Task Force (North West) Operation FANSAN YAMMA, Major General Abubakar Sadiq Mohammed Wase, on Friday 27 February 2026. The visit took place at the Stallion Conference Room, Headquarters 1 Division NA.

Towards strengthening operational synergy, Major General Ibrahim has expressed his appreciation to the GOC, formations commanders, and staff officers for their professionalism and dedication. He noted that their unwavering support and commitment has been vital to the successful achievement of the mandate of Operation FANSAN YAMMA, which oversees counter-banditry operations across the Northwestern states.

The CC Ord also commended the troops for sustaining operational momentum and for their collective efforts in safeguarding vulnerable communities and promoting regional stability. Major General Ibrahim emphasized the necessity of maintaining an effective logistics cycle to ensure sustained combat readiness. Stressing that continuously identifying areas for improvement to enhance overall operational effectiveness and Implementing timely interventions to meet the evolving needs of frontline troops.

He further lauded the security team and leadership for providing the essential logistics support required to sustain ongoing theatre operations.

In his response, Major General Wase, the 44th GOC of 1 Division, expressed profound appreciation for the visit and the continuous support provided by the Ordnance Corps. He assured the CC Ord of the Division’s sustained commitment to excellence and professionalism in discharging its constitutional responsibilities within the North West region.

The visit concluded with several traditional military highlights, including the signing of the Visitors’ Book, an exchange of souvenirs, and a group photograph.
