Over 250 Tambuwal’s Aides Pledge Loyalty To APC
About 252 special advisers and assistants to Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal of Sokoto State have resigned their appointments.
Addressing a press conference on Sunday, they said their decision was in reaction to the recent defection of the Governor from All Progressives Congress (APC) to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and his “abysmal performance” in the state.
“We have every reason not to follow him to his new party because he betrayed and disappointed the people of Sokoto state due to his abysmal performance.
“We thought the Governor would make a difference being a former number four citizen but his tenure is one of the worst that ever happened to the people of Sokoto state,” they alleged.
One of the Special Advisers, Abdullahi Ahmad, said time had come for them to join hands together to reclaim the state, describing the defection of the Governor as a betrayal of the people of the state who fought gallantly to unseat PDP in the country.
“But we are confident that we will win all elective positions in the state come 2019,” he said
The dieesnting aides reaffirmed their loyalty and support to President Muhammadu Buhari and the leader of APC in the state, Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko.
