Partner With EFCC – Magu Urges Corp Members

The Acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Ibrahim Magu has urged members of the National Youth Service Corps, NYSC, to partner with the Commission in the fight against economic and financial crimes to ensure a better future for the country.

Magu stated this on, May 2, 2018 during a sensitization lecture at the NYSC Orientation Camp, Okada Town, near Benin. Speaking on the topic, “EFCC and the Role of Youths in Curbing Corruption”, the Acting Chairman who was represented by Williams Oseghale, Head, Public Affairs, EFCC Benin Zonal office, urged Corp members to be agents in the fight against graft in their areas of primary assignment.

“Youth Corps members are dynamic young men and women, your intelligence and energy can be harnessed for greater public good as you will be posted to all nooks and crannies of this country. As educated person and influencers in your various disciplines, you are in a better position to act as foot soldiers of the anti corruption campaign”, he said.

However, he posited that for the Corp members to become effective advocates against corruption, they must be persons of integrity and probity, which are vital elements in the fight against graft. He also urged them to serve as role models by shunning all acts of corruption, economic and financial crimes.

“There is no short-cut to wealth and fame”, he admonished.
