
Plateau Security: Commander Operation Safe Haven Receives Fact-Finding Team, Assures Of Cooperation
The General Officer Commanding 3 Division Nigerian Army and Commander Operation SAFE HAVEN (OPSH), Major General Folusho Oyinlola, today 28 May 2025 received members of the High-powered Fact-Finding Committee set-up by Plateau State Governor to find lasting solutions to the incessant attacks on Plateau Communities. The 10-man Committee members inaugurated on 20 May 2025 were received at the Headquarters 3 Division, Maxwell Khobe Cantonment, Jos.
In his remarks during the visit, the Chairman of the Committee, Major General RI Nicholas (Rtd), said the visit was aimed at forming a healthy working relationship with Operation SAFE HAVEN towards achieving the mandates of the Committee. He described the Command as a critical institution that could help the Committee achieve its objectives with adequate information on the security breaches beginning from year 2001.
The chairman added, that the Committee will ensure workable solutions are provided to the Plateau government for implementation to address the circle of violence which has plagued the state.
Responding, the Commander extolled the personality of the Committee members, and expressed confidence in their ability to suggest doable solutions that will bring permanent peace to the state. The Commander assured that 3 Division/OPSH will provide necessary information to aid the activities of the Committee which has 2 months to complete its assignment. He, also advised communities not to take the law into their hands but rather take complaints to security agencies for immediate action.
Highlights of the visit includes presentation of brief, interactive session, signing of visitors’ book and group photograph.
