Police Harvest 29 Suspects For Various Crimes In Nasarawa State, Recover 4 Firearms, 11 Ammunition, 1 Vehicle

1. Arrest of Suspected Kidnappers and Recovery of Firearms:

• On 24/08/2023, Bawa Adamu and Amadu Buba were arrested with a locally fabricated gun.
• On 18/09/2023, AK47 rifle and ammunition were recovered from Wassa village, Sanga LGA.
• Investigation ongoing at State Criminal Investigation Department, Lafia.

2. Arrest of Suspected Kidnappers:

• On 31/08/2023, Ogani Dauda, Hamisu Ibrahim, and Ishaku Alhaji Ruwa were arrested.
• Responsible for kidnappings in Nasarawa Eggon, Akwanga, and Kokona LGA.
• Also involved in armed robbery along Nasarawa Eggon-Akwanga highway.
• Abdulraham Abubakar arrested on 04/09/2023 for kidnappings.
• Investigation ongoing to apprehend other gang members.

3. Arrest of Suspected Kidnappers:

• On 02/09/2023, four suspects were arrested for invading Alhaji Guda Dari’s residence.
• They had taken his ram for roasting before going for a kidnapping operation.
• One suspect arrested on 13/09/2023 for kidnapping in January, 2023.
• Investigation ongoing at the respective divisions.

4. Arrest of Armed Robbery Suspects and Recovery of Firearms:

• On 25/09/2023, two suspects were arrested for snatching a vehicle at gunpoint.
• Locally fabricated pistol, ammunition, and the stolen vehicle were recovered.
• Investigation ongoing at Mararaba ‘B’ Division.

5. Arrest of Suspected Cultist and Recovery of Firearms:

• On 25/09/2023, four suspects were arrested at a cultist hideout.
• Locally fabricated pistol, cartridges, berets, and occultic items recovered.
• Investigation ongoing at State Criminal Investigation Department, Lafia.
• One suspect attempted to bribe operatives with N30,000, which was declined.

6. Arrest of Suspect for Theft and Rape:

• On 24/08/2023, Zakari Abdullahi lured a girl into a guest house, raped her, and stole her belongings.
• On 29/08/2023, Bello Saleh raped a girl at a primary school classroom.
• Both suspects arrested, confessed, and to be charged to court.

7. Arrest of Rape Suspects:

• On various dates, suspects committed sexual offenses against minors.
• Suspects arrested, confessed, and to be charged to court.

8. Arrest of Suspected Armed Robbers:

• On 20/09/2023, James Ozegyam and Peace James arrested for blocking Yelwa-Igbabo road, snatching a motorcycle, and robbing road users.
• On 12/09/2023, Saidu Musa, Gabriel Salihu, and Nafiu Yahaya arrested for blocking Adevi-Obi feeder road and snatching motorcycles.
• Investigations ongoing at State Criminal Investigation Department, Lafia.
