
President NAOWA Commends Chapter Leaders For Delivering Impactful Projects and Strengthening NAOWA Vision
The President of the Nigerian Army Officers’ Wives Association (NAOWA), Mrs Safiyyah Hassan Shaibu, has commended leaders of various NAOWA chapters for their dedication, effective leadership and commitment to advancing the mission and vision of the Association through impactful programmes and legacy projects. Mrs Safiyyah gave the commendation while separately receiving the Coordinator, NAOWA Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC) Minna Chapter, Mrs Amina Peter Malla; the Acting Chairperson, NAOWA 2 Division Chapter, Mrs Blessing Mustapha and the Chairperson, NAOWA 81 Division Chapter, Mrs Gloria Ebunoluwa Babalola, during courtesy visits to the NAOWA National Secretariat, Abuja.
While receiving the Coordinator, NAOWA TRADOC Minna Chapter, Mrs Amina Peter Malla, the President NAOWA applauded her for recording remarkable achievements within a short period in office. She described the ongoing construction of a new NAOWA Secretariat in Minna as a strategic project that would strengthen institutional continuity and improve administrative effectiveness. Mrs Safiyyah also commended the improved welfare of teachers at the NAOWA School, Minna, including salary increments and enhanced training programmes, noting that such welfare-driven policies promote quality education and sustainability. She further lauded the establishment of a Skills Acquisition Centre designed to empower widows, wives of soldiers and children through vocational training and self-reliance.
The President also expressed appreciation to the Commander, Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC), Major General PP Malla for his consistent support towards the realization of NAOWA programmes in Minna. In a separate engagement, the President NAOWA commended the Acting Chairperson, NAOWA 2 Division Chapter, Mrs Blessing Mustapha for aligning her leadership with NAOWA’s core mandate of women empowerment, welfare and support for widows and vulnerable members. She highlighted the successful execution of skills acquisition programmes for NASWA members and widows, where beneficiaries were trained and supported with empowerment items, as well as the chapter’s participation in advocacy initiatives such as the International Day of the Girl Child. Mrs Safiyyah encouraged the Acting Chairperson to sustain people-centred programmes that promote unity, compassion, self-reliance and measurable impact across military communities.
Similarly, while receiving the Chairperson, NAOWA 81 Division Chapter, Mrs Gloria Ebunoluwa Babalola, the President NAOWA emphasized the importance of unity, collaboration and strict alignment with national policies and programmes. She stressed that synergy between the National Executive Council and chapter leadership remains critical to the successful implementation of welfare, empowerment and capacity-building initiatives nationwide. Mrs Safiyyah assured all the visiting chapter leaders of the continued guidance and support of the NAOWA National Executive Council, emphasizing that collective effort, shared vision and purposeful leadership across chapters remain essential to achieving the objectives of the Association. In their separate remarks, the visiting Chairpersons and Coordinator expressed appreciation for the warm reception and reaffirmed their commitment to working in unison with the NAOWA National in actualizing the Association’s mission and vision through sustainable programmes that uplift military families.
