
President NAOWA, Mrs Safiyyah Hassan Shaibu Hosts Special Iftar Dinner, Calls For Unity and Faith
The President of the Nigerian Army Officers’ Wives Association (NAOWA), Mrs Safiyyah Hassan Shaibu on Friday 6 March 2026 hosted a special Iftar dinner, bringing together members of the association, invited guests and families for an evening of reflection, unity and fellowship.
The event, held in the spirit of the holy month of Ramadan and Lent, gave guests a speaker like, Dr Shuraim Nasiruddin Abdulmumin who gave a sermon on the importance of prayer in the holy month. Members of 41 Regular Combatant (RC) Rubies; wives of Principal Staff Officers at the Nigerian Army Headquarters; wives of commanders; as well as other distinguished guests graced this beautiful occasion.
In her welcome remarks, Mrs Shaibu expressed delight at the gathering and appreciated members and guests for honouring the invitation to share in the sacred moment of breaking fast together.
She noted that the Iftar provided an opportunity for members to reflect on the virtues of faith, unity and service, which are central to both the holy month of Ramadan and the Lenten season.
Mrs Shaibu also commended members of NAOWA for their unwavering support and dedication to the ideals of the association, stressing that such commitment continues to strengthen the bond among military families.
According to her, the sacred season offers a reminder of the need for collective compassion, sacrifice and service to humanity, values that remain vital to nation-building. The President NAOWA further prayed that the fasting, worship and supplications offered during the holy season would be accepted, while wishing all present a blessed evening.
The gathering featured prayers, reflections and the breaking of fast, providing an atmosphere of spiritual upliftment and renewed commitment to unity among members of the association.
