Promoting Civil Military Cooperation Through Infrastructural Development, CNS Commissions Electrifying Project In Niger Community

CNS Commissions Electrification Project at Shaku Community in Niger State.

The Chief of the Naval Staff (CNS), Vice Admiral Emmanuel Ikechukwu Ogalla commissioned an electrification project in Shaku village, Lavun Local Government Area in Niger State. The project was facilitated by the Chief of Communications and Information Technology (CCIT), the host of the event, Rear Admiral Zakariyyah Shaku Muhammad and the CNS was represented by the Chief of Naval Transformation, Rear Admiral Mike Oamen who noted that the aim was to improve the cordial relationship between the Navy and it’s host communities nationwide.
Such relationships would aid intelligence gathering, human development and assistance to military operations in such communities.

He further remarked that the electrification project commissioned in Shaku will engender social economic activities as well as reinforce Civil Military Cooperation between the armed forces and its host communities.

Speaking further, the elated (CCIT) the host of the event, Rear Admiral Zakariyyah Shaku Muhammad thanked the CNS for considering his community for the project. According to him, the gesture by the CNS, was a dream of more than 30 years that has been accomplished through the intervention. He further noted that the entire Shaku and other adjoining villages as well military establishments in the area will benefit from the project.

Furthermore, the representative of Niger State Governor, the Commissioner for Homeland Security, Brigadier General MB Abdillahi (rtd) appreciated the Nigerian Navy for the foresight in providing such intervention infrastructure which he noted has brought renewed livelihood to the people of the area. He promised to sustain the relationship with the Navy in fostering areas of interest for enhanced security of the State
