Rap Mogul Sean Diddy Combs Changes His Name
Posting on his Instagram last night, the rap guru who has just turned 48 declared that he now wants to be called ‘Love’ or ‘Brother Love’.
“Hey y’all. I have some very serious serious news. I’ve been praying on this. I decided that – I know it’s risky and I know it’s corny to some people – but I decided to change my name again,” he Grammy Award winner said in the video.
Explaining the reason behind the name change, he said, “I’m just not who I am before. I’m something different. Some new name is Love aka Brother Love. I will not be answering to Puffy, Diddy, Puffy Daddy or any of my other monikers but Love or Brother Love.”

The rap boss chose the moniker ‘Puff Daddy’ in 1997, and a year later, he returned to using ‘Sean John’ which he had been known as in Harlem. In 1999, the ‘Can’t Hold Me Down‘ crooner whipped out a new name out of his hat, going with ‘Puffy’ this time, and later, he came up with ‘P.Diddy’, and lastly, ‘Diddy’.
Well, fans thought that was the last time they would be asked to memorise his ever-changing moniker, but the rapper has a more cheesy idea coming: he is now ‘Love’, or, if you want to sound funky, ‘Brother Love’.
