

Rear Admiral IA Dewu Assumes Role As Chairman Of Navy Holdings Limited Board Of Directors
Rear Admiral IA Dewu has officially assumed the position of Chairman of the Board of Directors, Navy Holdings Limited, succeeding Rear Admiral JD Akpan, whose tenure concluded following his recent appointment to the Defence Headquarters. Two additional board members were also replaced as part of this leadership transition.
The change of leadership was formalized during the 28th Navy Holdings Limited Board of Directors Meeting, held on January 17, 2025, at the Navy Holdings Limited Conference Room. Rear Admiral JD Akpan, the outgoing Chief of Policy and Plans (CPPLANS), Nigerian Navy, presided over the meeting before handing over authority to Rear Admiral IA Dewu.
During the meeting, the Group Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Navy Holdings Limited, Rear Admiral HUF Kaoje, presented key memoranda to the board thereafter, following the Companies and Allied Matters Act (CAMA), a proper handover process was conducted, signifying Rear Admiral IA Dewu’s formal assumption of the Chairmanship.
This transition marks the continuation of the strategic leadership and oversight of Navy Holdings Limited under the stewardship of Rear Admiral Dewu, the new Chief of Policy and Plans, Nigerian Navy. Other members of the board who were replaced due to service exigencies and appointments were Rear Admiral KG Levi and Commander RO Oyinbo who were replaced by Rear Admiral B Iyalla and Lieutenant Commander A Musa respectively.
