Remains Of Former Commander Nigerian Army Infantry Corps, Major General Idowu Uzamere, Buried In Benin
A former commander Nigerian Army Infantry Corps, Major General Osasogie Idowu Uzamere (retired), has been laid to rest on Thursday 22 June 2023 at his residence in GRA Benin City. The late senior officer passed away at his Abuja residence on Sunday, 28 May 2023.
The body of Major General Idowu Uzamere (retired) arrived at Elysium Marquee and Hotel, Benin City, where a funeral service was held in his honour before it was conveyed to his residence in GRA Benin City for final interment.
The Chief of Army Staff Nigerian Army, Lieutenant General Faruk Yahaya, who was represented by the Acting Executive Director Consult, Nigerian Army Resource Centre Abuja, Major General KO Aligbe during the funeral oration described Gen Uzamere as a brilliant, diligent resourceful, and meticulous senior officer, who had an unblemished record throughout his career in the Army.
The COAS eulogised the late senior officer for his forthrightness, outstanding and awe-inspiring moral standard which helped to motivate young officers. He, therefore, prayed that God Almighty grant the soul of the deceased eternal rest.
In attendance during the burial ceremony were the Chief of Defence Staff General LEO Irabor ably represented by Rear Admiral Ferrera Commander Operation Delta Safe, the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Faruk Yahaya, ably represented by Major General KO Aligbe, Members of 35 Regular Course, Members of 75 Nigerian Military School Zaria, retired and serving senior officers from Army, Naval, Airforce and Defence Headquarters, Nigerian Army Officers Wives Association, 35 Regular Course Officers Wives Association Also Known As (Amazon Babes).
Also present to mourn the deceased senior officer were the spouse, children, and immediate family members and friends.
