Retired Army, Navy and Air Force Officers Association of Nigeria Seeks Deeper Partnership With The Nigerian Army Resource Centre

The National President of the Retired Army Navy and Air Force Officers Association of Nigeria (RANAO), Major General HA Saliu (Rtd), on Tuesday, 28 July 2026, led a delegation of the Association on a courtesy visit to the Director General of the Nigerian Army Resource Centre (NARC), Major General JGK Myam (Rtd) OFR, at the Boardroom of the TY Buratai Block, NARC, Asokoro, Abuja.

The visit was aimed at strengthening the longstanding relationship between RANAO and the Nigerian Army Resource Centre while exploring additional areas of collaboration in support of the welfare, professional development and continued engagement of retired military personnel.

Speaking during the visit, Major General HA Saliu (Rtd) expressed appreciation to the Director General for the warm reception and the Centre’s sustained support to the Association over the years. He described NARC as a strategic institution that has continued to promote intellectual development, leadership and national security discourse.

The RANAO President disclosed that the Association, which serves as the umbrella body for retired officers of the Nigerian Army, Nigerian Navy and Nigerian Air Force, as well as other veterans’ associations, will commemorate its 39th anniversary on 8 August 2026. He therefore encouraged serving and retired military officers to join the Association in order to benefit from its welfare programmes, professional networking opportunities and other member-focused initiatives.

Major General Saliu (Rtd) also acknowledged the Centre’s continued assistance, particularly in the provision of essential utilities and other institutional support. He appealed for sustained collaboration and requested that members of the Association be considered for relevant training programmes at the Nigerian Army Resource Centre to enhance their knowledge, leadership capacity and continued professional development.

In his remarks, the Director General, Nigerian Army Resource Centre, Major General JGK Myam (Rtd) OFR, congratulated Major General HA Saliu (Rtd) on his election as the National President of RANAO on 21 May 2026 and wished him a successful and impactful tenure. He observed that military service remains one of the noblest professions and emphasised that officers who have dedicated their lives to the service of the nation deserve continued recognition, support and opportunities for meaningful engagement after retirement.

Major General Myam (Rtd) reaffirmed the Nigerian Army Resource Centre’s commitment to sustaining its cordial relationship with RANAO and assured the delegation of the Centre’s readiness to deepen collaboration in areas of mutual interest, particularly in leadership development, strategic studies, research and capacity building for retired military personnel.

The visit concluded with the presentation of commemorative plaques, the signing of the visitors’ book and a group photograph at the Centre’s photo stand, symbolising the shared commitment of both institutions to fostering enduring partnerships in support of national development and the welfare of military veterans.
