School Principal Commends EFCC on Enlightenment Campaign
Asatuma Osunde, Principal, Imaguero College, Benin City, Edo State has commended the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, for its enlightenment campaign aimed at sensitizing the public on the ills of corrruption and its consequences on the larger society.
Osunde stated this on January 30, 2019 during an enlightenment and sensitization campaign in her school by officers of the EFCC’s Public Affairs Department, Benin Zonal Office.
She said: “This is a very commendable exercise by the EFCC. This enlightenment will definitely enhance the knowledge of the students. They are now aware of what constitutes financial and economic crimes.
“Those of them, who heard you, will also take the message to their friends that crime does not pay and that punishment awaits those who are involved. And if they adhere to what they heard, we can have leaders in the future who will shun corruption.
“With such enlightenment of students and young people, corruption and other acts of criminality can be nipped in the bud”, she said.
The EFCC also took the sensitization and enlightenment campaign to students of Igbinedion Education Centre. The Commission charged the students to shun economic and financial crimes but to imbibe and uphold the values of hardwork, discipline, integrity and transparency.
