The Katsina State Police Command has arrested a 25-year-old woman identified as Rashida Hussaini suspected to be an informant and supplier of petrol to bandits in some forests in the State.
Recall that two weeks ago, we reported that the Katsina State Government suspended the sale of petrol in Jerry cans to checkmate the menace of bandits and other criminals in the State.
Intelligence gathered that the suspect was nabbed with six gallons of petrol concealed in a sack and a handbag hidden under her hijab.
She was arrested along Kofar Guga-Jibiya Road within the Katsina metropolis.
Rashida claimed to be from Gombe state and later said she’s from hijri in Niger Republic, however investigation revealed she came from Runka forest, a bandits’ camp in Katsina.
Confirming her arrest, the Katsina State Police PRO, Isah Gambo, said Rashida would be charged for aiding and abetting banditry, adding that the suspect’s husband is presently in the forest.
Isah added that the suspect would be charged to court at the end of investigations, to serve as a deterrent to others.
