Sen. Abubakar Bagudu Hosts Turkish Ambassador, Pushes For Partnership In Infrastructure Financing

The Honourable Minister of Budget and Economic Planning, Sen. Abubakar Atiku Bagudu CON welcomed a delegation led by the Ambassador of the Republic of Turkiye to Nigeria HE Mr Hidayet Bayraktar for a courtesy call at his office on Thursday, 25th January, 2024.

The visit was an opportunity for both parties to reaffirm and strengthen the long-established bilateral relationship between Turkey and Nigeria and laid the groundwork for future collaborative initiatives that would benefit both nations.

During the meeting, the Ambassador expressed the desire to further nurture and bolster the already strong ties between the two countries. This was a testament to the enduring friendship and collaboration that has existed between Turkey and Nigeria over the years.

In response, the Honourable Minister emphasized the critical need for partnerships in infrastructure financing in Nigeria, given the significant deficit in infrastructure development within the country.

He underscored the importance of fostering collaborations and leveraging international relationships to address this infrastructure gap.

Furthermore, the Minister highlighted the Integrated Infrastructure Master Plan housed within the Ministry of Budget and Economic Planning, emphasizing its role in guiding and shaping Nigeria’s infrastructure development agenda.
