Singer, Entrepreneur…Actor? Kokomaster D’Banj Reveals Plans to Venture Into Hollywood

Kokomaster, D’banj may be making his acting debut soon.

The 35-year-old Emergency singer recently revealed his plans to go into Hollywood during a live quiz with South African radio host Anele Mdoda on 947.

D’ banj stated that he could be trying his hand at acting once he is done with Lip Sync Battle Africa which he currently hosts with South African media girl, Pearl Thusi. He also announced that he will be starting his own reality show soon.

“Once you say you’re an entertainer‚ you don’t want to limit yourself‚” he said.“So yes‚ I’m going into Hollywood. It might be here in South Africa where I’ll be having a reality show about me. I told you I might be on Isidingo soon.”

D’banj has over the years proven his versatility as an entertainer and businessman. From having his first reality show, Koko Mansion in 2009 to launching his personal flagship product, Koko Garri and getting signed to rapper Kanye West’s GOOD Music label, D’banj is definitely one of the biggest celebrity brands in Nigeria.

Musicians going into acting isn’t a new things as we have seen musicians such as Falz, 2baba and Tiwa Savage take on acting roles. However, we wonder why D’banj wants to make his acting debut in Hollywood and not here in Nigeria. D’banj has been noticeably paying more attention with his ambassadorial roles abroad in the past few years and was recently questioned by his Nigerian fans about his plans for Nigeria after he was spotted supporting the American Red Nose Day .

So we ask again, is D’banj trying hard to become American?
