
South South Zonal Director Of National Center For The Control Of Small Arms and Light Weapons Pays Courtesy Visit To Headquarters Eastern Naval Command
On Wednesday, 17 September 2025, the South-South Zonal Director of the National Centre for the Control of Small Arms and Light Weapons (NCCSALW), Dr. Alex Inemoh Ebimiebo, led his team on a courtesy visit to Headquarters Eastern Naval Command.
The visit was aimed at strengthening collaboration between the Centre and the Nigerian Navy in combating the proliferation of illicit arms, with a view to enhancing peace and security across the region.
In his remarks, Dr. Ebimiebo emphasised the importance of consolidating efforts to curb the threats posed by unregulated arms. He highlighted the need for partnerships, improved security frameworks, and sustained awareness campaigns to reduce armed violence, while calling for synergy among relevant stakeholders in the South-South region.
In response, the Flag Officer Commanding Eastern Naval Command, Rear Admiral Kennedy Chukwuemeka Ezete who was represented by the the Chief Staff Officer Eastern Naval Command, Rear Admiral Danjuma Muhammad Ndanusa, appreciated the Director for the visit. He reaffirmed the Navy’s readiness to support initiatives that promote security and safeguard the nation’s maritime environment. He further stated that the agency could partner with Operation DELTA SAFE for support and other relevant information in carrying out its operations.
