Synergy Means Of Enhancing Military-Media Relations — General Saraso
As a means of fostering military-media relations, the General Officer Commanding (GOC) 1 Division Nigerian Army and Commander Sector 1, Joint Task Force North-West Operation FANSAN YAMMA, Major General Mayirenso Saraso, on Wednesday, hosted the Managing Director of Fortune Radio 99.3 FM and Television Services Limited Kaduna, Alhaji Ibrahim Dosara, and his team on a courtesy visit to Headquarters 1 Division Kaduna.
Major General Saraso while making his welcome remarks provides a brief overview of the Nigerian Army’s structure, emphasizing that 1 Division is one of eight Nigerian Army Divisions across the country, with operational responsibilities spanning Kaduna, Kano, Jigawa, and Niger States.
He appreciates the media’s role in nation-building and highlighted the Army’s ongoing efforts to combat terrorism, insurgency, and banditry in the region. According to him, the improved security situation along the Kaduna–Abuja corridor and other flashpoints is a testament to the synergy between security agencies, government collaboration, and public support.
“The Nigerian Army remains committed to the safety of citizens. Our troops are working tirelessly to address evolving security challenges and ensure peace is sustained,” he stated.
While making his remarks, Alhaji Dosara appreciates the Army’s dedication to ensuring peace and security in Kaduna and beyond. He appreciates the GOC’s leadership and reaffirmes the organisation’s commitment to supporting the military through constructive media engagement, including the production of documentaries that showcases the Army’s sacrifices and achievements.
The visit reinforces the role of media in enhancing public awareness, fostering community support for military operations, and enhancing civil–military cooperation.
