The Nigerian Air Force is currently carrying out successful comprehensive aerial bombardment on established hideouts of bandits in the northeast, northwest and north central zones of the country.

The airstrikes which started in Katsina and Benue states will be extended to other states.

Katsina state in particular has been the focus of these airstrikes. The army, airforce and police carried out coordinated attacks on hideouts of bandits in various areas of the state. The reason is that once bandits are under attack, they always send distress signals, warning others, hence giving them time to evade detection. So the army, airforce and police carried out simultaneous attacks on bandit hideouts in Batsari, Jibia, Sabuwa, Danmusa, Safana, Matazu, Kqnkara, Dandume

In Katsina state, the Nigerian Army, the Nigerian Air Force, and the police have increased attacks on the hideouts of bandits in various parts of the state. The areas affected are Batsari, Jibia, Sabuwa, Danmusa, Safana, Matazu, Kankara, Dandume, Dutsin-ma, Kurfi, and Faskari local government areas, where bandits had been kidnapping farmers and other residents.

These are sustained attacks. The air force in particular now carry out strikes on identified bandits’ hideouts virtually on a daily basis and at any time. Excited residents report seeing fighter jets flying round the clock missions. They report seeing fighter jets returning with their weapons pylons empty, only to see helicopter gunships flying low to carry out mop up operations as the fighters re-arm. This is going on round the clock, denying terorrist groups time to rest and putting immense pressure on their informants.

Speaking of which… Nigerian troops have captured a notorious ISWAP informant who leaks information on the movement of security personnel and commuters to the terrorist group .This guy, who goes by the name of Goni Fandan had been on the radar of Army Intelligence for over a year, and was ironically nabbed while spying on the location of troops in Borno.

Now, in the midst of all this, as Bandits are getting pounded round the clock.
