Theatre Commander OPHK Pays Maiden Operational Visit To Sector 3 Area Of Responsibility, Extends COAS Commendation
In continuation with the operational tour, assessment and evaluation of troops deployment, combat readiness as well as the operational posture of Sectors under command, Major General GU Chibuisi, the Theatre Commander (TC) Joint Task Force North East Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK) from 18 -19 August 2023, visited 5 Brigade Gubio and 68 Battalion Mallam Fatori respectively.
The Theatre Commander who was accompanied by Sector 3 Commander Major General POA Okoye was received at the visited locations by Field Commanders and was equally briefed on the operational activities of the various Formations and Units.
Upon completion of his tour at 5 Brigade, the TC proceeded to 145 Battalion Damasak where he was equally briefed on the operational activities of the Unit by the Commanding Officer. Thereafter, Maj Gen Chibuisi conducted an assessment tour of the facilities and strategic deployment of the Unit before his departure.
In a similar event on 19 August 2023, the TC visited 68 Battalion Mallam Fatori where he was equally briefed on the operational activities of the unit before being conducted on a guided tour round the facilities and deployment of the unit including the troop’s deployment at Bailey Bridge of River Kamadugu – Yobe.
While addressing troops in Damasak and Mallam Fatori, the TC charged them on alertness and the need to maintain an aggressive posture against the terrorist as they continue to hold their ground. Furthermore , he used the opportunity to extend the commendation of the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General TA Lagbaja and appreciation to the troops for their resilience and commitment in the fight against the terrorism.
Additionally, the TC assured the troops of his support with all necessary required logistics and also promised to make their welfare his priority.
