

Unknown Gunmen in the early hours of Monday May 17, attacked and set the Apumiri Ubakala Police Station in Umuahia South Local Government Area ablaze.
The attack, which occurred amid the 8pm to 6am curfew imposed on some Local Government Areas in the State is the fifth in a series of attacks on police facilities in the State, in the last one week.

Sources say the attackers broke into the police station around 2am on Monday morning, killed two police inspectors, and razed the facility.
It was learnt that the gunmen invaded the armory, carted away guns and ammunition, and also set free the detainees.
