Tyrese Hospitalized With Chest Pains, Dehydration

Tyrese has reportedly been hospitalized after he began experiencing chest pains.

According to TMZ, the 38-year-old actor checked himself in a Los Angeles hospital Thursday night, shortly after a day in court with his ex-wife, Norma Gibson.

Sources said Tyrese suffered the pains when returned to his hotel room after leaving the courthouse. He also expressed feeling dehydrated, which prompted him to go to the ER. He is reportedly on a fluid drip and undergoing tests to determine the cause of his chest pains.

Tyrese is currently in a nasty legal battle against his ex, who has accused him of abuse and spying. Norma has attempted to get a permanent restraining order against Tyrese to keep him from their 10-year-old daughter Shayla. Norma was previously granted a temporary restraining order; however, she claims Tyrese violated the terms after he admitted to hiring a plane to fly a personal banner over their child’s school. The message reportedly read: “NO MATTER WHAT, DADDY LOVES YOU SHAYLA.”

After taking the stand earlier this week, Norma said she was afraid of Tyrese “at times,” and also accused the actor of punching her while she was pregnant in 2007. She claims she was approached by his team shortly after the incident and was pressured to sign papers that would prohibit her from ever speaking about the abuse. Norma said she signed the contract because she didn’t want to ruin his career.

Tyrese spoke to TMZ today after leaving court. He said he decided to wear all-black because today marked a funeral for the allegations against him.

“Today was a funeral because it was the death of a dialogue,” he said while standing with his current wife, Samantha Lee Gibson. “There’s been a dialogue, accusations of abuse that’s been following for eight years. And it all died today. No one will ever walk up to me assuming or thinking that I did any of the things I was accused of.”
