University Of Abuja Honours DCP Akem For Providing Five Years Of Pro Bono Lectures

The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, Ph.D., NPM., has commended DCP Adedeji Akeem, the Force Procurement Officer, for his commitment to nation building and service to humanity. The IGP gave this commendation following the recognition of DCP Akeem’s excellence in service to the country and humanity which was celebrated at the Sultan Maccido Institute for Leadership, Peace and Development, University of Abuja, alongside other honourees.

The institute honoured DCP Akeem for having delivered lectures pro bono for the past five years, offering his knowledge and expertise at no cost. His sacrifice, described as an embodiment of patriotism, drew accolades from the Acting Vice-Chancellor of the University, Professor Mathew Adamu, who commended his passion and consistency, stressing that giving back to society in such an intangible but invaluable way is a lesson for all Nigerians.

Professor Adamu further said that people who give back to the society should be recognized and celebrated, as contributions like this cannot be measured in monetary terms, because they carry enormous value for the nation. He added that their selfless service is worthy of emulation.

Speaking in response to the honour, DCP Akeem expressed his gratitude to the University for the recognition, reaffirmed his service to humanity, and further donated some of the books he authored to the University in support of its academic programmes.

Meanwhile, IGP Egbetokun has charged officers and men of the Force to emulate the shining example of DCP Akeem by embracing professionalism, discipline, and excellence in service.
