In a show of solidarity and continued engagement with the active-duty military community, a delegation of distinguished military veterans under the auspices of the Retired Members of Nigerian Armed Forces (REMENAF) paid a courtesy visit to Brigadier General AM Tukur, the Commander of 3 Brigade, Nigerian Army, in his office at Bukavu Barracks, Kano.

Welcoming the delegation, Brigadier General AM Tukur, expressed appreciation for the visit and noted the importance of sustained collaboration between serving and retired military personnel. The delegation emphasised REMENAF’s tradition of maintaining strong ties with its former professional constituencies and reaffirmed its commitment to advocating for the rights and welfare of retired service members and their families. Mr Durowaiye-Herberts further expressed gratitude to Brigadier General AM Tukur and his officers for the warm reception and generous hospitality, describing the visit as nostalgic and rewarding.

The interaction provided a valuable opportunity to enlighten serving officers about post-service life and to discuss critical issues such as enhanced welfare for military veterans and improved support systems for the widows and orphans of fallen heroes. The team was led by the Chairman of the board of Trustees of REMENAF Foundation, Mr. Abiodun Durowaiye-Herberts, a respected Veteran Commander.
