You Must Strive To Add Value To The System – GOC Re-Emphasizes, Hosts DG BAFMA
In discharging your responsibilities in the Nigerian Army (NA), you must endeavour to add value to the system. The General Officer Commanding (GOC), 6 Division, NA, Major General Emmanuel Eric Emekah, has admonished commanders of various formations and units on 20 November 2025. He gave the admonition when the Director General (DG), Bureau of Army Financial Management and Audit (BAFMA), Major General Remmy Odi, paid him a working visit at Headquarters, 6 Division, Port Harcourt Barracks.
The GOC emphasized that the attitudinal change drive adopted by personnel of the NA has transformed the system, adding that it encouraged personnel at all levels to focus on what is beneficial to the growth of the system. He pointed out that the visit undertaken by BAFMA to Headquarters, 6 Division, was to educate and enlighten formations and units on how to manage their financial obligations effectively. He congratulated the DG on his appointment and expressed optimism that he would turn around the fortunes of the Bureau for the better.
Earlier in his remarks, the DG BAFMA, Major General Odi, stated that auditing in the NA is essentially to go through accounts and ensure adherence to established financial regulations, by reducing queries to the barest minimum.
Major General Odi further said the task undertaken by the Bureau is corrective and meant to prevent avoidable exposures. He urged commanders to continue to support the GOC as he pilots the affairs of the Division.
