You Won’t Believe What Gov Al-Makura did Nasarawa State

Governor Tanko Umaru Al-Makura of Nasarawa State is changing the face of cool in the Nigerian political space.

At a time when his contemporaries are retreating further into their shells in light of the volatility of the polity, Governor Al-Makura, or Ta-al as he is fondly referred to, continues to capture the imagination with refreshing acts of humanity and simplicity.

Few weeks ago, Gov Al-Makura commanded the headlines when he appointed a blind person, Hon Liman Yunusa Usman as a Councillor in Lafia, the capital of the north-central state.

While responding to questions about the rather outlandish appointment, Gov Al-makura said the disabled have been stigmatized by both government and the public in policy formulations, inclusiveness and day to day social interaction, WuzupNaija writes.

He was praised by all and sundry for the unprecedented gesture.

But the indefatigable governor isn’t done yet, as on Sunday, August 21, he made the headlines once again for something few of his peers would contemplate, let alone accomplish.

Ta-al was photographed evacuating refuse dump at Mararaba/Karu area during the commencement of evacuation of refuse dump to clean up the area.
