41 Regular Course Alumni Celebrate Legacy Of Service, Honour Chief Of Army Staff
The 41 Regular Course (41RC) Alumni Association on Sunday, 27 September 2026, held a Reunion Dinner and Grand Reception in honour of the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lieutenant General Waidi Shaibu, at the Nigerian Army Conference Centre and Suites, Abuja.
The event brought together members of the Course to celebrate more than three decades of friendship, military service, leadership and sacrifice, while honouring one of their distinguished members, Lieutenant General Shaibu, who assumed office as Chief of Army Staff in 2025.
Members of 41RC have served across the Nigerian Army, Nigerian Navy and Nigerian Air Force in various operational, command, staff, instructional and strategic appointments, contributing significantly to the defence and security of the nation as well as the development of the Armed Forces of Nigeria.
Beyond their professional accomplishments, members of the Course have sustained a strong bond of fraternity anchored on discipline, comradeship, leadership and service to the nation. The reunion also provided an opportunity to remember and honour coursemates who paid the supreme price in training accidents, aviation incidents and active service. Their sacrifices remain an enduring part of the Course’s proud history and contribution to national security.
The occasion highlighted the enduring bonds forged at the Nigerian Defence Academy and the importance of military professionalism, institutional memory and comradeship in strengthening the Armed Forces. More than three decades after their journey began, members of 41RC remain united by a shared heritage of service and sacrifice, aptly captured in their guiding ideals: “United in Friendship for Progress. Bound by Service. Strengthened by Sacrifice. Remembered by Legacy.”
Dignitaries at the event included the former Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Faruk Yahaya (rtd), Principal Staff Officers from Defence and Service Headquarters, Commandants of Tri-Service and Institutions, families of the 41 RC, serving and retired senior officers, as well as other distinguished invited guests.
