
Chief Of Air Staff Joins Defence Leaders To Advance Industrial Capacity For National Security and Regional Stability
The Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke, on Monday, 24 August 2026, joined the Honourable Minister of Defence, General Christopher Gwabin Musa (rtd), OFR, the Chief of Defence Staff, Service Chiefs and other senior security and strategic stakeholders at the National Defence College (NDC) Course 34 Graduation Lecture in Abuja. The lecture, delivered by former President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, His Excellency Dr Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, GCFR, was themed “Harnessing Industrial Capacity for Inclusive Growth and Regional Stability in Africa.”
The high-level gathering provided a strategic platform to examine the nexus between industrial development, technological advancement, economic resilience and sustainable security. Discussions underscored the imperative for African nations to strengthen indigenous productive capacity, reduce strategic dependencies and foster stronger collaboration among government, the defence and security sector, industry and other critical stakeholders.
For the Nigerian Air Force, the lecture further reinforced the importance of indigenous technological and industrial capacity in building a more capable, resilient and future-ready force. The NAF remains committed to strengthening strategic partnerships and pursuing innovative solutions that enhance operational effectiveness while contributing to Nigeria’s broader national security and development objectives.
