ABDUCTORS OF OLORU-ILU OF IMOPE IJEBU DEMAND N100M RANSOM

The abductors of a community leader in Ogun State, the Olori-Ilu of Imope Ijebu, Tajudeen Omotayo, have demanded a ransom of N100 million for his liberty.

We reported on Saturday that he was abducted by gunmen while returning from a meeting held in Ijebu-Ode town in his vehicle.

The community leader was reportedly accosted at the Oke-Eri area of Imope where the armed men pulled him out and took him away to an unknown destination.

The Ogun State Police PRO, Abimbola Oyeyemi, who said Omotayo’s abductors have reached out to his family to demand a N100M ransom for his release, however noted that command would not be part of the arrangement to pay a ransom for the victim’s freedom.

The Community leader’s abduction comes one week after gunmen abducted two female students of the Olabisi Onabanjo University (OOU) in Ago-Iwoye.

After spending two nights in the custody of their abductors, the students regained their freedom on Tuesday last week.

The Police however said no ransom was paid to secure the release of the students.
