Acting Director Of Information Pays Maiden Visits To Media Establishments In Lagos
The Acting Director of Information (Ag DINFO), Captain Abiodun Abidemi Folorunsho, visited leading media organizations in Lagos from 17-19 February 2026 as part of efforts to strengthen strategic communication and deepen collaboration between the Nigerian Navy (NN) and the media.
Over the 3-day tour, the Ag DINFO held interactive sessions with the management and editorial teams of AIT, Channels Television, TVC News, Arise News, as well as print media outfits including Vanguard Newspaper, The Guardian Newspaper, The Nation Newspaper, The Sun Newspaper and This Day Newspaper
During the separate engagements, he reaffirmed the NN’s commitment to transparency, professionalism and the timely dissemination of accurate information on its operations. He also emphasized the importance of responsible and balanced reporting, particularly on maritime security issues, while highlighting the Navy’s sustained efforts to safeguard Nigeria’s territorial waters and protect critical national assets.
In their respective remarks, the various media executives commended the Navy’s operational achievements and proactive engagement, assuring the NN of continued cooperation in projecting factual and well-contextualized reports on its activities.
