AFCSC Organizes Annual International Day For Students Of Senior Course

The Armed Forces Command and Staff College (AFCSC) Jaji Yesterday 17, June 2023 held its Annual International Day Celebration for students of Senior Course 45 at AVM SU Dambo Sport Complex Jaji Military Cantonment Kaduna.

The colorful carnival was aimed at providing useful information and insight into the History, Geographic, Political and Socio – Cultural aspects of the respective countries.

In his remarks, the Commandant AFCSC, Air Vice Marshal EA Wonah who was represented by the Deputy Commandant and Director of Studies Rear Admiral DH Moses stated that study have shown how acknowledging the cultural validity of other people can be vital for peaceful co-existence and prosperity and also the celebration of cultural diversity can engender compassion, innovation and holistic approach to problem solving.

He further added that African cultures are similar however, the incorporation and assimilation could be made easier, and the understanding of history to influence the cultural realities.

Rear Admiral Moses commended the students for putting in considerable efforts to come up with the various cultural representations witnessed and equally appreciated efforts of the Directors, Chief Instructors as well as Members of Directing staff for their continuous guidance in directing the students. He further urged the students to work harder as they move to complete the course.

The event featured colorful performances by the representatives of different African countries among which includes Nigeria, Bangladesh, Congo, Gabon, Gambia, Liberia, Malawi, Rwanda, Sierra Leone, Tanzania, Zambia and Zimbabwe.

Highlight of the event were display of cultural dances, exhibition of ancient artifact, display of local and traditional meals among others to provide opportunity for the students to showcase their culture and socio – economic heritage which is evident in the manner the students displayed the artifacts, national delicacies and other countries specific items on the exhibition stands.
