Sources disclose that the student was commuting from Benue to Sokoto on Tuesday when her assailants ambushed her vehicle, whisking her and other passengers in the car away.

Intelligence gathered that the driver and one passenger however escaped while others were abducted.

Oryiman Kondo, the victim’s brother, told newsmen that the bandits have demanded a N1 million ransom to secure the release of his sister. He said they threatened to kill the victims if the ransoms are not paid within three days.

Kondo said; “They were kidnapped on Tuesday evening and we didn’t know their whereabouts until this morning when she called with a particular number and told us that they have taken them to a place where they can have access to the network so that they can reach out to their relatives for the ransom that they demanded.

“They demanded a huge amount, but as of this evening, we were able to beat the price down to N1 million. They gave us three days that if the deadline elapsed and the money is not forthcoming, they are going to take them away and they are not going to return them again.”
