
Barzan Holdings Pays Courtesy Visit To Chief Of The Naval Staff
On Wednesday, 4 February 2026, the Regional Manager Africa, Qatari Military Industrial Complex, BARZAN Holding, Mr Thamer Al-Emadi, paid a courtesy visit to the Chief of the Naval Staff (CNS), Vice Admiral Idi Abbas, Admiralty Medal, at the Naval Headquarters, Abuja. The visit followed earlier engagements between both parties during the Doha International Maritime Exhibition (DIMEX) held in Doha, Qatar.
During the meeting, Mr Al-Emadi thanked the CNS for honouring the invitation to DIMEX and explained that the visit was aimed at advancing discussions on joint development and capacity-building initiatives in maritime weapons and defence technology. He stated that BARZAN Holding’s engagement with the Nigerian Navy is in line with a clear directive from the Ministry of Defence, Qatar, to pursue collaborative development that would enhance maritime security capabilities and contribute to the safety and well- being of the Nigerian people.
In his response, Vice Admiral Idi Abbas welcomed the delegation to Nigeria and the Naval Headquarters, commending BARZAN Holding for demonstrating commitment by reinforcing discussions held in Doha with a reciprocal visit. The CNS acknowledged the capabilities presented by the company and noted that the Nigerian Navy would examine areas that could be adopted to strengthen its operational effectiveness and support long-term capability development.
