Ycee Tops Billboard’s ‘Next Big Sound’ List

And yet another Nigerian artiste has carved a space for himself in the global music industry, this time it is rapper Ycee.

Today, the rapper was profiled by Billboard, alongside top stars from across the globe, as one of the ‘Next Big Sound’ music lovers should look out for.

Writing on his Instagram today, the rapper who is better known for his hit single Jagaban, said the recognition came as a surprise to him. “Woke up this morning and I don’t even know how I ended up on the billboard website only to find out that I AM ON THE BILLBOARDS CHART- NEXT BIG SOUND,” he said.

“I’m am speechless and humbled @billboard for the recognition “I dey billboards when I no be advert” @tinnyentafrica we about to level up,” Ycee continued.

YCEE rose to fame with his smash hit single Jagaban, which saw him getting a nod as the Rookie of the Year at the 2016 Headies Awards. Shortly after, the Omo Alhaji crooner inked an exclusive deal with Sony Music Entertainment.

Now, he is getting the global recognition his contemporaries like Wizkid, Tekno and Mr Eazi are getting, and we are so happy for him!
