CGC Adeniyi Bags Public Sector Icon Award

The Comptroller-General of Customs (CGC), Adewale Adeniyi, has again been recognised for his outstanding leadership, earning the Public Sector Icon Award at the 13th edition of the Vanguard Personality of the Year Award, held on Friday, 11 April 2025, in Victoria Island, Lagos.

The prestigious award is the latest in a string of accolades celebrating the transformative strides the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has made under his stewardship, particularly in revenue collection, trade facilitation, and national security enhancement.

Representing the CGC at the event, the Zonal Coordinator for Zone ‘A’, Assistant Comptroller General (ACG) Charles Orbih, described the honour as a reflection of the deep reforms currently reshaping the Service.

“The recognitions follows the Service’s ongoing and overwhelming transformative agenda that has touched so deep into revenue collection, improving national security and trade facilitation”, he said.

ACG Orbih added that the award is not only a personal achievement for the CGC but also a national symbol of strategic leadership and institutional renewal. “It is not just the recent one, numerous print and digital media organisations have acknowledged his excellent work”

The Vanguard Award Ceremony brought together top dignitaries including state governors, traditional rulers, business moguls, and public sector leaders, all celebrating individuals who have made exceptional contributions to national development.
