
Chairperson NAOWA 8 Division Graduates Trainees, Urges Them To Embrace Skills
The Chairperson, Nigerian Army Officers Wives Association (NAOWA), 8 Division Chapter, Mrs Meg Ndidi Ajose, has urged graduating trainees of the Centre to recognise the value of their skills and pursue their dreams with confidence. She disclosed this during the graduation ceremony of the NAOWA Vocational Training Centre at Giginya Cantonment Sokoto on 2 May 2025.
The Chairperson who was represented by Mrs Fatima Abbas noted that vocational education plays a critical role in developing the skilled workforce Nigeria needs. “You are not just the graduates, you are fashion designers, tailors, makeup artists, bag makers. You are problem solvers, builders of small markets, and engines of innovation.” She said.
Mrs Ajose charged them to remember that their skills are valuable, their dreams are valid, and their contributions are essential, as they step into the world beyond these walls. She expressed appreciation for the unwavering support of the General Officer Commanding (GOC), 8 Division and Commander Sector 2 Operation FANSAN YAMMA Major General Ibikunle Ademola Ajose as well as the management and instructors of the Centre.
Earlier, the GOC represented by the Deputy Chief of Staff Logistics, Colonel Raphael Olugbenga Adeyemi expressed his admiration for the centre’s impact, noting that he was truly impressed by the quality of work and the transformation at the Centre. The GOC reaffirmed his continuous support for the Centre.
In her welcome address, the Zonal Representative NAOWA 8 Division Chapter, Mrs Fatima Imamu, thanked the Chairperson for her inspiring and motivational leadership, commending her impactful dedication to empowerment of women and youth.
Mrs Imamu added that the Vocational Training Centre is more than just a facility, but a platform for empowerment particularly for women and youth, providing practical skills to build sustainable livelihoods and contribute meaningful to society particularly for women and youth.
Highlights of the event include inspection of various skills acquisition stands, cultural dance performances, presentation of certificates and souvenirs, and group photographs.
