Chief Of Accounts and Budget Army Declares 1 Division Finance and Accounts Training Week Open

The Chief of Accounts and Budget (CAB) Army Maj Gen AA Fayemiwo has today 5 June 24 declared the three day 1 Division Finance and Accounts Training Week 2024 open at the Division Auditorium, Kaduna.

In his opening remarks,the CAB(A) who was represented by the Chief of Staff 1 Division Brig Gen DC Nwakonobi stated that the duties and responsibilities of the Nigerian Army Finance Corps is central to the performance and effectiveness of the Nigerian Army both in war and peace times.

He reiterated that In the discharge of their duties, all Nigerian Army Finance personnel are expected to be proactive and proficient as this would ensure financial services are rendered effectively and efficiently to all Nigerian Army personnel as well as units and formations at the right time and place. He added that the practice conforms with extant rules and regulations and above all make them professional in their conduct as military personnel.

He further stated that in pursuit of year 2024 training objectives, it has been directed that all Division Finance Offices are to conduct a Division Finance Train Week in other to address the training needs of their personnel just as he further reiterated that training is one of the pillars of the Chief of Army Staff Command Philosophy which is “To Transform the Nigerian Army into a Well- trained, Equipped and Highly Motivated Force Towards Achieving Our Constitutional Responsibilities within a Joint Environment’’.

The Commander 1 Division Finance and Account Brig Gen AM Kitchener earlier in his welcome address stated that the training, is an initiative of the Chief of Accounts and Budget (Army) driven by his passion to enhance development, professionalism and improve the skills and knowledge among officers and soldiers of the Nigerian Army Finance Corps, in order to equip them with the knowledge for tackling financial issues and how to render useful advice to their superior in their various area of responsibility.

He added that the training has been well organized and packaged with professionals billed to deliver series of lectures. He charged participants to pay attention to the lectures and take advantage of the great opportunity offered by the training week to further improve their knowledge and proficiency in handling financial issues is the NA.
